HELIDREAM HELICOPTERS

We would like to share our enthusiasm for flying and to convey this enthusiasm to our passengers by showing them a different side of Tenerife from the air. We want to show them Canarian culture and traditions and reveal the immense wealth of Canarian cultural heritage, including its cuisine, its people and the incredible places forged by nature. Because there are places that you can only really see from the air.

The R44 is a single-engine helicopter with a semi-rigid, two-bladed main rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor and skids for landing gear. It has an enclosed cabin with two rows of side-by-side seating for a pilot and three passengers. The tail rotor’s direction of rotation on the R44 is the other way to the one on the R22 in order to improve yaw control authority. The R44’s advancing blade is on the bottom.

Designed in the 1980s by Frank Robinson and his team of engineers, the R44 first flew on 31st March, 1990. The R44 Astro received the FAA Type Certificate in December 1992, with the first deliveries made in January 1993.
